What are the awards categories?

 

There are 8 categories available, reflecting the breadth and diversity of the leasing broker sector from which you can choose to enter the award - or awards - that demonstrate your expertise.

Restrictions and criteria for each category are shown below.

Best leasing broker: up to 1000 vehicles sales

Best leasing broker: 1000 - 4000 vehicles sales

Best leasing broker: over 4000 vehicle sales

Best leasing broker marketing award

Best leasing broker customer service award up to 4000 vehicle sales

  • Those companies providing leasing contracts less than 1000 sales a year (Jan 2015 to Dec 2015). You will have to provide evidence of your sales and your commitment and service to customers.

  • Judges will be looking for exceptional deals, expertise and financial guidance along with your FCA compliance.

 

 

Best leasing broker: 1000 - 4000 vehicle sales 

 

  • Those companies providing leasing contracts between 1000 sales to 4000 sales a year (Jan 2015 to Dec 2015). You will have to provide evidence of your sales and your commitment and service to customers.

  • Judges will be looking for exceptional deals, expertise and financial guidance along with your FCA compliance.

 

 

Best leasing broker: 4000+ vehicle sales 

 

  • Those companies providing leasing contracts over 4000 sales a year (Jan 2015 to Dec 2015). You will have to provide evidence of your sales and your commitment and service to customers.

  • Judges will be looking for exceptional deals, expertise and financial guidance along with your FCA compliance and your ability to manage service and volume.

Best leasing broker marketing award

 

  • What have you done that really stands out – or has made a significant difference to your business? Whether it’s delivering a consistent level of informative communications to your database, sponsoring local or national events, or creating a new way to meet new clients we want to hear about it.

 

  • Companies must demonstrate their marketing initiatives between Jan 2015 to Dec 2015.

 

 

Best leasing broker customer service - to 4000 vehicle sales

 

  • Surely the holy grail of all brokers offering leasing services. So how has your company gone the extra mile that’s turned a customer into an ambassador for your business? The judges will be looking for examples of how your company has actively excelled in customer service.

  • Examples must be from the period Jan 2015 to Dec 2015.

 

Best leasing broker customer service - 4000+ vehicle sales
  • Surely the holy grail of all those involved in offering small fleet leasing services to the SME sector. So how has your company gone the extra mile that’s turned a customer into an ambassador for your business? The judges will be looking for examples of how your company has actively excelled in customer service and can consistently provide this expertise while managing a volume business. 

  • Examples must be from the period Jan 2015 to Dec 2015.

 

Best green leasing broker

 

  • More customers are turning to green fleet leasing on the back of greater product availability and to reduce company car taxation exposure. How is your company helping deliver this green revolution?

  • Explain to the judges what you do to promote Ultra Low Emission Vehicles and facilitate its implementation with customers (period Jan 2015 to Dec 2015).

Best van leasing broker

 

  • Vans are the indicator that the economy is moving. But who provides the best leasing service of vans to the market? You will have to provide evidence of your sales and your commitment and service.

  • Judges will be looking for great deals, but as well as this expertise in the commercial vehicle sector and a range of financial guidance for the various finance options offered during the period Jan 2015 to Dec 2015.

 

Who are the judges?

 

The awards will be judged by a panel of eight experts from the leasing industry chaired by David Brennan, chief executive of Nexus Vehicle Management.

David Brennan, chairman.

 

David is the CEO of Nexus Vehicle Rental, the leading provider of corporate vehicle rental in the UK through its award winning "Intelligent Rental Information System", IRIS.

 

Before joining Nexus, David had been with the vehicle leasing firm, LeasePlan UK, for 8 years as Managing Director and oversaw the substantial growth of LeasePlan UK, both in profits and scale.

 

Graham Conway, Alphabet.

 

Graham is head of Partner at Alphabet, the mobility specialist’s dedicated broker channel, having been appointed to the role in February this year.

Graham joined Alphabet in 2014 as head of special offers and was a key part of the management team to help drive the newly formed Alphabet Partner proposition as well as being instrumental in the development of the bespoke and market-leading icon quotation system.

Todd Williams, Arval.

 

Todd Williams is the head of broker at Arval UK, working closely with specialist brokers throughout the UK to provide vehicle leasing solutions to small businesses.


Todd joined Arval in 2000 working in various areas of the business including, fuel, accident management, operational leasing and has recently returned to the UK having spent the last four years working in international business at the Arval headquarters in Paris.

 

 

Earlier in his career, David worked for two car manufacturers before moving to vehicle leasing firm, LeasePlan UK, where he worked for 8 years as managing director, overseeing the substantial growth of the company in terms of reputation, profit and scale.


Over the last two years, David has overseen the growth in scale of Nexus and led a management buyout in December 2015.

Colin Tourick, Grant Thornton Professor of Automotive Management, University of Buckingham.

 

Colin is a management consultant specialising in the automotive fleet and asset finance markets in the UK and overseas. He is also a prolific author, with eight books including ‘Managing Your Company Cars’, 'Company Car & Van Tax 2015-16' and 'Do The Maths - How to decide whether you should lease or buy'.

 

 

He is a 35 year leasing industry veteran, the former managing director of CitiCapital Fleet and the co-founder of the International Auto Finance Network.

Paul Hollick, The Miles Consultancy.

 

Paul is the managing director of The Miles Consultancy (TMC), the fuel purchasing and mileage management specialists, as well being chairman of the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM).


A qualified chartered accountant, Paul began his fleet career at Inchcape Fleet Solutions where he was head of finance and for four years before joining Alphabet in 2007.

At Alphabet, Paul was part of their executive team where he headed up all their sales and marketing activities, while leading innovation, development and delivery of new products into the UK market.


Paul was also chairman of the Business Car Manager SME Company Car of the Year Awards 2016.

Chris Swallow, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions

 

Chris is the national sales manager – associates at Hitachi, heading up the company’s broker division.

 
Chris is a specialist in the broker market, having joined Hitachi in 2014 from ALD where he was broker manager for six years. Before joining ALD Chris was sales director at finance broker Drive UK and prior to that worked for Mercedes-Benz in corporate sales across the East Midlands.

Fred Crawley, managing editor, Credit Strategy

Fred is an experienced editor in the asset finance world, having worked for VRL Financial News, including Leasing Life, since 2008. 


Fred joined his current publishers, Athene Publishing, in June 2013 as managing editor with a portfolio of titles including Credit Today and Insolvency Today.

Steve Cocks, Lex Autolease.

 

Steve, who is now in his 25th year at Lloyds banking group, is now director of Lex Autolease Broker Division. Steve has led broker teams for Bank of Scotland, Lex and now Lex Autolease. His background is in both dealer and asset finance where he held positions in sales and management.

Matt Bristow, manufacturer sales director, BCA 

 

Matt has recently been appointed manufacturer sales director at BCA, following 16 years with the BMW Group most recently as general manager of corporate sales.


A qualified chartered accountant starting his career with RSM Robson Rhodes, Matt then went on to work in both the BMW Financial Services and Alphabet leasing divisions of BMW before joining the manufacturer as general manager of used car and internal sales. 


Matt joins BCA in September. 

Graham has extensive experience in the leasing sector, having worked for nearly 10 years as head of tactical business for Lex Autolease. 

He has successfully launched Credit Strategy, which includes a dedicated Car Finance section and the first Car Finance conference, which was held successfully this summer.
